But I feel good, why do I need to get adjusted? Chiropractic is often only recommended when someone is in pain. It’s true, chiropractic is the best natural treatment for pain, however, pain shouldn’t be the ONLY reason you visit your chiropractor!

In fact, pain is only a small indicator of what is really going on in your body!

Ok, so if pain isn’t the only indicator that you need an adjusted, what should you look for?

Here are four indications that an adjustment is necessary!

Blood Pressure.

Do you suffer from high blood pressure? Your nervous system is responsible for regulating your blood pressure, so if your nervous system is compromised, it can’t do its job correctly. Regular adjustments can ensure that the sympathetic part of the nervous system that controls the blood pressure can fully function without working overtime.

Digestive problems.

Heartburn as well as chronic nausea, constipation and diarrhea are all indicators that something is going on in the digestive system. Again, the nervous system rules the roost when it comes to your digestive tract. Yes, eating healthy and providing your body with GOOD bacteria will also aid in proper digestion, but if the brain can’t effectively communicate to the area, you’re going to have stomach issues.

A simple cold.

Feeling under the weather? Your body can overcome illness with its own immune system. An adjustment can bring down a fever (which by the way, fevers AREN’T the enemy! They are simply one of the frontline defenses AGAINST illness), increase the rate at which your body can heal and get you feeling better in no time.

Irritability.

You’ve heard the saying, “you need an attitude adjustment!” There’s a reason for that! An adjustment truly can boost our mood. If you’re feeling stressed or even anxious, that’s a good indication that your body is stuck in fight-or-flight mode. An adjustment will get it “unstuck” and you’ll most likely walk away feeling more relaxed.

Don’t wait for your body to “tell” you that you need adjusted though! Issues can and will arise even without symptoms and to keep your body functioning at it’s best, regular, consistent wellness checks are the key!
